React0r to Unlock iPhone 4 Baseband 4.11.08 Running iOS 5

Several weeks ago we discovered the iPhone 4 Unlock Baseband 4.11.08. A hacker is actually working on unlocking the Apple iPhone 4 baseband 4.11.08 known as React0r and now we are reporting the very first time on the tool in which the sim-lock will probably be taken away.

The unknown hacker about which we have never heard before, Hamzah Akram, has been working on the React0r unlock for iPhone 4 since October 2011 and in just a couple of days, an improvement was received. In the test with the iPhone 4 running iOS 5/5.0.5 or probably the baseband 4.11.08 and claiming to get the iPhone 4S unlocked. A small problem is that a network connection needs to be made from the actual world.

So, Hamzah Akram discovered the possibility of removing iPhone 4 baseband information. He could erase it but wasn’t certain how to proceed from there.

Nevertheless, after hours and hours he made a breakthrough and has effectively unlocked baseband 4.11.08. According to his blog and his tweets, it is most likely that he modified the iOS 5 IPSW file and SIM interposer i.e. Gevey Turbo SIM to make the unlock work.

In a situation when lots of big developers usually are not working on Baseband 4.11.08 unlock, this is definitely a sign of hope for each iPhone 4 user who relies on unlock. Furthermore, Hamzah Akram posted below screenshot on Twitter and we all can see his progress.

This screenshot demonstrates an exploit he found during his study. Hamzah Akram has been working on this React0r unlock for iPhone 4 baseband 04.11.08 since October-November last year. And around 8 weeks later now, he seems to have some progress.

For all of the iPhone owners running IOS 5.0 and looking forward to the unlock, as stated by Hamzah Akram, they must be pleased with the iOS 5.0.1 update, the unlock baseband 4.11.08 made to work efficiently under this firmware version.
