Those folks with jailbroken devices now have ability to add music progress indicator to the Status bar on iOS 9 iPhone. This is very handy option to have on your device and new beta jailbreak tweak, called Coda, enables a new circular icon in the Status bar that is animated to reflect the playback progress of the current playing song. If you are interested in trying this tweak then follow steps below on how to install Coda on your iPhone.

How To Add Music Progress Indicator To The Status Bar On iOS 9 iPhone

Few things you need to know before proceeding:

  • your iOS device must be jailbroken with available jailbreak tool
  • currently such public firmware releases as iOS 9.2 and iOS 9.2.1 are unjailbrekable - don't upgrade your iPhone
  • Coda tweak supports iOS 9 firmware
  • Coda works not only with the stock Music app, but with such third-party music apps as Spotify, Shazam etc.

Step 1. As at present Coda tweak is in beta you can grab it from the following repository: http://repo.cpdigitaldarkroom.com/.

Step 2. Once installed, Coda starts to work immediately as it doesn’t require any additional configuration. Simply play a song from the Music app and you will notice the new icon added to the Status bar.

Step 3. As the music is playing on your iPhone, the progress bar of the icon fills with a solid white color to give you an idea of how much more time is left for the song to complete.

Coda is really handy tweak for music fans that adds music progress indicator to the Status bar on iOS 9 iPhone. But there is one essential feature that was omitted in this beta package. The tweak doesn't show the playback status of the currently playing music. But it is possible that the developer behind the tweak will add a playback indicator to the Status bar icon and even some more new features in upcoming release.
