DarkMessages Tweak Enables Dark Theme On iOS 10 Message App

New Cydia release dubbed as called DarkMessages by Sticktron enables dark theme on iOS 10 Message app. There were rumors that iOS 10.3 would bring the Dark Mode feature to iPhones and iPads, but unfortunately that didn’t happen. That's why DarkMessages is here and it will turn the entire interface of the Messages app into dark shades of grey, which will reduce the strain on the eyes when using the Messages app at night.

How To Enable Dark Theme On Message App In iOS 10

We should say that the dark mode is not only easier on the eyes, but it looks more stylish. The dark UI looks sleek and is so polished that it makes me wonder why Apple wouldn’t integrate this useful feature into iOS as a stock one.

So to get the ability to enable dark theme on iOS 10 Message app you should first download and install DarkMessages tweak on your jailbroken device from Cydia. The tweak is available as a free download package. Keep in mind that DarkMessages tweak only works on iOS 10, as Apple implemented some major changes in the look and feel of the Messages app with iOS 10 release. Once installed the tweak you will notice a single toggle switch in the DarkMessages preferences pane in the Settings app that enable dark mode.

One thing we should say about DarkMessages is that it doesn’t come with any kind of time frame settings, so if you install the tweak, your Messages app is either dark all the time, or light all the time.

DarkMessages offers a similar function that jailbreak tweaks like Nightmode9 and Eclipse can already do system-wide, however DarkMessages has one advantage as it was developed specifically for iOS 10. So if your device has been already jailbroken with the recently released Yalu iOS 10.0-10.2 jailbreak then you can use DarkMessages right away.
