How To Set The Default Email App On iOS 10 iPhone

In this post we'll show you how to set the default Email app on iOS 10 iPhone. As you know the stock Mail app in iOS is the default mail client and there’s no way that you can change this. This means that you’re stuck with using the stock Mail app for things like composing an email when clicking on mail hyperlinks such as ‘mail:to’.

However, there are multiple amazing third-party mail apps in the App Store that offer a lot of interesting and useful features. And if you ever wished to use any of these as your default mail app, then you should use a new jailbreak tweak dubbed as MailClientDefault10. With this tweak, you can easily set a third-party email app as your default mail client.

MailClientDefault10 tweak currently supports four third-party mail apps including:
  • Gmail
  • Inbox
  • Outlook
  • Spark

So if you want to set the default Email app on iOS 10 iPhone with the help of MailClientDefault10 tweak then you should navigate to Cydia’s BigBoss repo and grab this tweak for free. The tweak supports only jailbroken iOS 10 devices.

Once you're done with installation, go to tweak's preferences pane in Settings app and there you can pick a default mail client from the four supported email apps. Once selected, the next time when you will attempt to launch the default mail app n your jailbroken device, it will open the third-party app that you chose in Settings rather instead of the stock Mail app.

Apart from these four email apps, there are tons of other great email clients it would be really great if developer behind the tweak decided to increase the list of supported mail clients. I believe he can do it easily in the future updates to the tweak.

MailClientDefault10 is really useful tweak for those who want to use the alternative third-party mail app to the stock Mail app.
